Mission Statement

The mission of Historic Homes of Defiance is to research the historic homes and structures in the area; to highlight the significance of the homes and surrounding neighborhoods; to bring the history of these homes and neighborhoods to the attention of others; and to promote preservation and growth.

Membership

Historic Homes of Defiance welcomes individuals that have an interest in preservation, the history of Defiance and historical homes and sites in the Defiance area. Many members own a historical home in the area. A historical home is considered any home over 50 years in age. However, owning a historical home is not necessary, only the desire and interest to learn about history and preservation.

Meetings

Meetings are held every other month on the third Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are open to all members and the public. A notice appears prior to the meeting in The Crescent News. You may also call the office at (419) 785-4163 for information on the next meeting. Meetings are generally held in a historic home or building with a brief business meeting and a presentation of interest to the group.
